I wonder if there is some mathematical reason for the moire related to screen resolution and dpi. Well years ago when I did mess about with tones I discovered that certain ones seemed to resize better than others.
It's just finding out which ones and why. Dotties were the worst I remember (low resolution dotties espcially) but like I said certain ones seemed to work. That being said this was photoshop to paper or just zooming out in PS, not quite the same as Kindle, I'm not even sure what screen res a kindle has to be honest.
