Handel's Messiah

On the 20th February, I'm participating in a performance of Handel's Messiah that's being organised by my church. I'm really looking forward to it - I do like singing parts, and the music is amazing. I got the score just last Tuesday, and now poor Serge is having to put up with my practicing every evening!
The concert is on 20th February, and it's preceded by a short talk on the actual lyrics and what they mean. It's free to come - I think there's a retiring collection for Tearfund's aid work in Haiti. Anyone who wants to come and join in the singing is very welcome, but because the only rehearsal is on the day, you have to either be familiar with the music or able to sight-sing (!) Oh yes, it's in Great St Mary's, in Cambridge Market Square, and the concert starts at 8pm. The rehearsal is 2:30-5:00. I'm excited - and nervous *^^*

Splendid! I'm unfortunately not free that weekend tho'. I went with my Dad to see a costumed performance of Messiah in December and we had a great time, followed along in the score, which made it more fun and engaging (and a bit geeky!) Singing it would be an even more awesome way of appreciating the music, and the worship bound up in it! Have fun!
